Abstract: I will describe the use of tensor networks as a conceptual tool to understand aspects of holographic models of quantum gravity. These networks illuminate some of the many ways in which the emergence of spacetime geometry in quantum gravity is deeply rooted in the physics of entanglement and quantum complexity. I will also describe feedback in the other direction, where we use tensor networks as computational tools for many-body physics (and regulated field theories) partly inspired by connections to gravity and black holes.
